Just returned from cleaning this lovely F. Bertazzon Italia, 5-burner gas range. Easy peasy:

Thanks, just fine!
I hope your all-singing, all-dancing cucina moderna is coming along as planned. Yes, that recommended cleaner does work, and very well. Me, I try the basics, particularly when the client does not have what you described. I should know by now, but I keep experimenting and . . .
My biggest gripe is when someone -- owner OR house cleaner -- uses abrasive pads and such.
NO!!!

Well, with all this talk of gas and electric ranges and my obsession with how to clean them, I only now came up with this -- and you already knew it:
I was having a problem removing streaks from the black enameled top of the SAMSUNG shown below. My problem was that I couldn't sufficiently expunge (with a sponge!!!) the residue from the dish soap I was using. Should know that it and the residue left behind in tea towels -- for drying -- cannot be easily wiped away.
I had a gallon of white vinegar at hand, so, I moistened a few wet paper towels with the vinegar, swabbed the stove's deck, and wiped it all up, streak-free, mind you, with a clutch of PTs.
VOILA' -- no more streaks. Therefore, I retract what I wrote earlier about not having CORNING glass tops, et al., because my ignorance was showing.
So obvious, the wonders of white vinegar!

Told My Parents Yesterday That I Don't Want to Be a JW
by Saethydd ini wasn't entirely sure what to expect when i made the decision to tell my parents how i really feel, but i was prepared for the worst, fortunately, it didn't come to that.
after i told them i didn't want to go to the meetings anymore it led to a long talk with them.
they made a number of irksome and woefully uninformed statements but at least they were not aggressive and have said that they won't force me to move out over this, though, i can tell they are hoping they can convince me to "accept the truth," as long as i still live with them.

Greetings, Saethydd:
WIshing you the best possible outcome.
We were such parents 30 years ago, until we woke up. Not re: TTATT, but that we would lose our child. It went against the "wisdom" meted out by The Society, but we, Mom and Dad, said you don't have to be a JW, just obey the house rules.
This newly liberated teenager became obedient and lost the rebel attitude. To this day our kid is kind, generous, and forgiving. Just never believed in the religion and we said okay.
Please hang in there.

Today's free-standing gas range of choice: SAMSUNG, with dual oven. I'm making soup right now, which is really cool -- I put the kettle on the back burner, whose cap is just 1.5 inches in diameter. A tiny flame. The other caps are 3, 4, and 5 inches respectively. Oh, there's more: a griddle in center.

Please tell me: what is a relationship with the "person" Jehovah like?
by Maryo indoes anyone out there know of any jws that have talked about what their personal relationship with jehovah was like?
for example, hearing his voice, a certain feeling?
an intellectual understanding?

Given all that has been stated regarding us "other sheep," what, then, of that very special connection the anointed have with both Jesus and Jehovah?
The unquestionable reassurance of a personal relationship with God was the touchstone of our faith. Was our house of faith actually built upon sand? Was all we held dear simply a well-developed and fleshed-out figment of our collective imaginations?
Speaking of the anointed, a dear old anointed sister told me over 50 years ago that she and her likewise "anointed" husband were the only residents in town not affected by mass hallucination. The citizenry witnessed the arrival of aliens; she and her husband, however, did not.
Jehovah, apparently, spared them from witnessing what had to have been a demonic manifestation. It all makes sense to me now.

"CoCo -- what's your FAV gas cooktop that is installed on countertops? I'm not much of a cook anymore -- let's just say I don't cook anymore and my kitchen has never had the big range like you pictured but I've had the best Euro/gas ones that are set in the island part of kitchen. I'm redoing my kitchen but will still be same layout for cooktop. Thanks." -- LV101
Thanks for asking, LV101!
Apart from loving the WOLF, which I use on occasion, I really have no preference.
Much of my simple cooking, at my own place, is in electric skillets or a crock pot. My use of fancy ranges, including Thermador (too many bells and whistles and attendant issues), is during house sitting jobs. I truly have no preference as they all cook pretty much the same.
My deal -- as written already -- is cleaning ease. The WOLF is a cinch. White or black Corning tops, Thermador, and Jenn-air electric (way too many parts to take apart and reassemble) I would never have.
Maybe I'm just a lousy cleaner?!?!?!?

Much of the above.
I really loved my work among the warm, loving Caribbean people in my foreign language "missionary" territory. They readily had us into their homes, assembling friends and family to listen to us. The increase was huge, but to what end, I now puzzle. Putting together circuit and district assemblies/conventions was a blast.
My Bethel work as a proofreader -- a very taxing job -- "interfered" with my preaching and teaching all over New York (Brooklyn, Manhattan, Nyack, etc.) I had to give it all up, like so many young, earnest Bethelites, who crashed and burned.
I still edit/proofread but NOW GET PAID FOR what they trained me TO DO FOR FREE.

Funeral plan ?
by Chook into all you young and old alike what would you have as a farewell party from this earth , would you party with friends months before or would you go out quietly and rather have input into the wake.
i have heard of these duck hunters who put their ashes in shotgun shells.

Yes, a celebration of life where ANYONE WHO WISHES can speak, sing a song, cry, laugh, be a little irreverent, . . .
Not ever going to happen at a Kingdom Hall.
